Joyeux Halloween!

Our second Halloween in France and we decided to throw a little 'fete' and show our French (and Brit!) friends a little Halloween-flare 'American Style!' because so far we have found Halloween in France to be a tiny bit disorganized and somewhat sporadic, but refreshingly less commercial. And in the true spirit of making the best of it--when in France--if you can't find a party--make a party!

The ghosts were made of bottle drying racks and soccer balls covered with sheets, the huge 'caldron' came from a brocante as well.  You might not notice but not one jack-o-lantern!  We managed without as we never did find traditional orange pumpkins at the market--so instead we used farmer's market squashes!

The other discovery was that for the first time 'Oldest Garcon' did NOT want to dress-up!  Guess he is getting to the age that he is too cool for it!  The other kids dressed up in traditional witch, zombies and goolies!  (The fake gel-blood was a bit much though!  Yes, I am a wimp!) and I was happy that 'Middle Garcon' decided at the end only to be a pirate (Jack Sparrow) and not a undead-zombie pirate!  Didn't want him to scare 'Petite Fille' who wore her favorite pumpkin hat, but alas was caught by the local spooks and put in the caldron to make a sweet pumpkin soup!

.......h-e-l-p-    ....m-e.....!

.... and finally, the brave doggies came to her rescue!

A sweet 'Happy Ending'  all around!

Joyeux Halloween Mes Amis!
